Where was this taken?
At the Sunnyvale Wetlands Preserve in California (USA)
Why this subject?
I was shooting wildlife in the park and I don’t see American White Pelicans very often so when I saw one swimming in the calm water it was a no-brainer to take some shots!
What gear did you use?
Nikon D5000 with Nikon 70-300mm AF-S lens
Any tips and tricks?
Even with VR a steady hand, tripod, or something to brace the camera on is vital!
